The British Columbia River Outfitters Association

Provisions

Special provisions are guidelines that have been developed for more than 125 river sections in British Columbia. These provisions outline the basic requirements that we have agreed need to be met in order to operate a safe and enjoyable trip for our guests.

The approved special provisions include every river section in BC. New rivers are proposed to industry annually and vetted by operators to ensure a consistent approach to requirements.

The provisions are posted in PDF format:

Members of the BCROA adhere to industry leading standards that surpass government regulations. Ask any guide: they’re more concerned about their safety driving in city traffic than rafting on the river.
